Cantonese learning – 2nd session – 10 December (Sat)

It was said that Cantonese is one of the most difficult languages to learn in the world, especially for English speakers, because it’s a tonal language and there is no official standard romanised system. In other words, if you dare to try to learn Cantonese, what other languages can beat you?😉

Supported by Edinburgh Wellbeing Pact: Coorie in for Winter Fund, we have held our 1st Cantonese learning activity last Saturday with a few local participants. They all had a good time making new friends from Hong Kong and had 1:1 conversations to learn Cantonese from our volunteers. At the end of the session, they showed off what they’ve learnt by introducing their language peers to others in Cantonese while the kids were even able to count 1 to 10 and ask for more tortilla in Cantonese😁!

We will be holding a 2nd session again under Coorie in for Winter on Dec 10 for the same time, same venue. Don’t miss out on a chance to learn a new language (also one of the hardest in the world) and meet new buddies during this winter!
